Packrafting is believed to have originated in Alaska when it was introduced to a wilderness race and some backcountry adventureres and businesses, like Alpacka Raft, located in North America. â€‹

The Packraft is a light and compact inflatable raft that is usually used as a mode of transport on long distance, outback hikes or bike trips. With some basic white water training and the right safety gear, the packraft can be experienced by any capable swimmer.

Microadventures

Microadventures are best described as an outdoor, overnight trip that is affordable and achievable by all, even someone without a lot of outdoor experience.

Alastair Humpreys also states these short adventures are "perspective-shifting bursts" and "usually closer to home."

Trail Towns

With two desintations officially listed as "Trail Towns" in Western Australia now and many more working hard to be awarded the title, trail towns are quickly becoming the place to spend a weekend with friends and family.

We love finding new and different base camps in each town and experiencing what the area has to offer.

Adventure Safety

Please remember our trips are just blogs, we write about OUR experience and OUR trips. We are not an authority, we are not guides, we are not trained or qualified in outdoor adventure or packrafting. These are the experiences we had, on that day, with that weather and conditions. Please do not embark on a trip you have not researched or prepared for. We take weeks researching and sometimes even do reccy runs to investigate. We have emergency equipment like SAT phones, PFD, PLB, helmets and remote first aid training. Some people laugh at the precautions but hurting yourself, getting lost or running out of food and water in the Australian outback is no laughing matter. We want you to explore more and have amazing adventures but we also want you to be safe.
